CDRouter’s 9.2 release expands the power of automated, functional network testing all the way into the home. With several major changes under the hood, users can now test their DUT’s ability to handle large numbers of wireless clients. All of this is easily enabled by the new NTA1000v4 hardware platform for CDRouter.
Multi-station Wifi simulation
CDRouter simulates Wifi clients connected to the DUT’s LAN to perform a lot of testing, just as it does for wired Ethernet connections. With the NTA1000v4 and CDRouter 9.2, you can now simulate up to 64 Wifi stations from a single radio. This extremely powerful feature lets you test whether your DUT will stop accepting Wifi connections after a certain point, how your DUT’s handling of wireless connections compares to wired connections, and ensuring that it treats all of its wireless station clients equally.
These Wifi scalability tests are critical to today’s Wifi routers and access points who will be seeing an exponential increase in the number of devices connected to them with the emergence of multi-screen media and the Internet of Things.
The New NTA1000v4
With CDRouter 9.2 comes the introduction of the new NTA1000 version 4, which includes two Wifi interface cards and supports the ability to support multi-station Wifi simulation. You can check out all of the new specs here.
These and a plethora of new tests and bug fixes are what we’re bringing you in CDRouter 9.2! You can read the full release noteshere.
